The Westminster Mental Health Service is a housing pathway including two 24 hour projects and four semi-independent houses. We work with people with complex mental health and homelessness needs with a focus on person-centred recovery and move-on. We work in a way that promotes equality, hope, choice and control.
As a Night Worker you will be actively engaging with residents and providing them with support and assistance during the night. You will carry out administrative tasks, hourly building checks and monitor issues like noise in the locality and within the building. You will also be responsible for appropriately dealing with any emergency situations that arise during your shift and writing handover notes for the daytime workers.
You will have experience of dealing directly with clients with homelessness and mental health issues and of lone working. You will also have a genuine interest in helping vulnerable people to make changes in their life to move them towards independent living.
Other requirements include the ability to constructively challenge difficult behaviour and to learn new IT applications and basic computer skills.
If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who have experienced homelessness, we would like to hear from you.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, childcare, cycle and eye care voucher schemes. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development
